Frequently Asked Questions
How long will the battery last without being recharged?
Depending on your energy usage during the outage, the NV14 fully charged can provide up to 28 hours of power. (Estimate based on typical house usage of 500 Watts on critical loads when in grid outage).
Will the battery keep my solar producing during an outage?
During an outage the utility will typically shut off all solar production. Having the NV14 energy storage system will allow your solar to remain on. The NV14 controls PV production to ensure no energy is back-feeding to the grid.
Will it back up my whole house?
To ensure safety and proper functioning, the NV14 will not be installed as whole home back up. Our installers conduct a load calculation to determine which load circuits to power when the grid is down.
Can I manually control the settings?
System settings are pre-programmed for maximum efficiency. Prior to installation, our installer will discuss your goals with you so they can program the system accordingly. Due to the nature of the technology, home owners cannot make any manual changes but the settings can be adjusted by any of our certified installers upon request.
